Angel Language Academy – Terms and Conditions
Definitions
‘Study contracts’ are for study courses arranged between Angel Language Academy and the client.
‘Applicants’ are the persons whose names appear on the booking forms entered as the applicants for a course of study.
‘The student’ or ‘client’ is the person or persons whose names appear on the booking form entered as the applicant for a course of study and whose acceptance has been confirmed by Angel Language Academy.
All money values in pounds ‘£’ in the Terms and Conditions and fees are for the currency used in the territory of Great Britain.
‘Deferred start’ and ‘deferral’ refer to a situation where an applicant is not able to start a course on the agreed start date but wish to start later.
‘Us’ refers to Angel Language Academy.
1. Enrolment
Registration and Payment
1.1 To ensure that clear student eligibility status records are kept, we ask that all applicants, including EU applicants, provide and include their passport as evidence. All applicants must be at least 18 years old when starting a course of study with Angel Language Academy.
1.2 Course fees and all additionally incurred payments must be paid in full no less than 6 weeks prior to the agreed course start date. If payments are not received in the given time the application is regarded as in default. Angel Language Academy is not obliged to admit applicants if they fail to produce payments less than 4 weeks prior to the agreed course start date or on demand for late applicants.
1.3 Registration for courses will be accepted on receipt of the completed application form (available on the college web-site or by direct communication with college staff) and the sum of £150. This amount includes a £50 non-refundable enrolment fee plus a £100 deposit. The deposit is part of the course fee. Agents may incur independent service fees in line with their own systems and services. These fees are not governed by Angel Language Academy and are subject to regulations imposed by legal jurisdiction in the region from which the agent operates.
1.4 Applicants will be notified of course acceptance within 48 hours.
1.5 Applications should be received at least 6 weeks prior to the expected course start date to guarantee a course place.
1.6 All payments are immediately due when registration occurs less than 6 weeks prior to an expected course start date.
1.7 Acknowledgement of the client or clients’ registration will be issued once all registration payments have been confirmed as received by Angel Language Academy. In case of cheque, credit card or money transfers to Angel Language Academy via bank transactions, receipt will be acknowledged once clearance of money transfers have been confirmed by Angel Language Academy’s banking systems.
Proof of Payment
1.8 A client must present proof of payment and enrolment at the start of their course. This will be their invoice receipt, their original passport and where applicable their original visa or any acceptance letter signed and dated by the Principal. If relevant proof is not submitted then students will not be admitted into classes.
Deferred Start
1.9 Deferrals will be considered in circumstances which an applicant cannot control, such as accident, additional unexpected delays in visa application visa and visa refusal before any visa appeal. In all other circumstances, deferral conditions do not apply and applicants are advised to refer to the ‘Cancellations and Withdrawals’ section of Angel Language Academy’s Terms and Conditions.
1.10 In the event of a client’s need to defer participation in an agreed course, where possible, the client should give written notice no less than 22 days prior to the agreed start date. For deferred starts of 1 to 2 weeks in this case, the full received payments will be honoured from the new reserved start date. Deferral of 3 to 4 weeks in this case will require an additional reservation fee equivalent to 20% of each week of deferral with no refunds plus any required accommodation reservation payment equivalent to 20% of 4 week’s use of accommodation and services. For deferral requests of 5 or more weeks, ‘Cancellations and Withdrawals’ condition 3.1 applies; reapplication is recommended as the enrolment fee will be honoured for the next scheduled course start date if applicants wish to make such a reservation.
1.11 In the event of a client’s need to defer within and including 21 days to 15 days before the start of an agreed course, the client should give written notice no less than 15 days prior to the agreed start date. Deferral of 1 to 2 weeks in this case will require an additional reservation fee equivalent to 20% of each week of deferral with no refunds. Deferral of 3 to 4 weeks in this case will require an additional reservation fee equivalent to 20% of for each week of deferral with no refunds plus any required accommodation reservation payment equivalent to 20% of 4 week’s use of accommodation and services. For deferral requests of 5 or more weeks ‘Cancellations and Withdrawals’ condition 3.2 applies unless reapplication is requested. If reapplication is requested then ‘Cancellations and Withdrawals’ condition 3.1 applies and the enrolment fee will be honoured for the next scheduled course start date if applicants wish to make such a reservation.
1.12 In the event of a client’s need to defer within and including 14 days to 8 days before the start of an agreed course, the client should give written notice no less than 8 days prior to the agreed start date. Deferral of 1 to 4 weeks in this case will require an additional reservation fee equivalent to 20% of each week of deferral with no refunds plus any required accommodation reservation payment equivalent to 20% of each week’s use of accommodation and services. For deferral requests of 5 or more weeks, ‘Cancellations and Withdrawals’ condition 3.2 applies; reapplication is recommended as the enrolment fee will be honoured for the next scheduled course start date if applicants wish to make such a reservation.
1.13 In the event of a client’s need to defer within and including 7 days to no days before the start of an agreed course, the client should give immediate written notice prior to the agreed start date. For deferral requests of 5 or more weeks, ‘Cancellations and Withdrawals’ condition 3.3 applies; reapplication is recommended as the enrolment fee will be honoured for the next scheduled course start date if applicants wish to make such a reservation.
2. Visa Nationals and EU applicants
Angel Language Academy accepts applications for Visa Student Visitors.
Applicants are advised to check with the UKBA to confirm their status regarding application.
2.1 An applicant applying for a visa to study will only be issued with a Certificate of Conditional Acceptance when it is requested by the applicant and once full registration fees have been paid. There is a £10 administration fee for this service.
2.2 All visa national applicants are responsible for their own visa application process. Angel Language Academy cannot advise on individual application processes or visa conditions. Visa applicants should approach the relevant government offices for advice individually and in good time prior to intended course entry.
2.3 Applicants are advised that their visa details will be required for verification of acceptance onto a course and secure copies will be retained by Angel Language Academy for the convenience of relevant government offices and inspections.
2.4 Any visa national student or client acknowledged as registered on a course with Angel Language Academy and holding a visa registered to us may not transfer to another institution on the basis of that visa without compliance with visa systems of administration. Any alternative study plans within the UK must follow government visa application systems and are subject to immigration law.
2.5 Any visa national student withdrawing from a course in progress for reasons which are not the responsibility or within the control of Angel Language Academy during the course will receive no refunds and accept that their visa will become void subject to immigration law.
2.6 In case of visa refusal, ‘Cancellations and Withdrawals’ 3.1 to 3.4 apply. For any expected refunds stamped refusal letters from the appropriate government office only will be accepted as evidence.
2.7 Any visa national student whose attendance in any given course period does not exceed 10 expected contacts may be withdrawn from the student lists and their study visa will be deemed void if their absence is suspected as in breach of their visa conditions. The appropriate government offices will be notified of the situation and so subject to immigration law.
2.8 Angel Language Academy reserves the right to report to the appropriate government offices any visa national student whose punctuality or full scheduled class attendance in any given course period does not exceed 10 expected contacts. Action may be taken subject to immigration law.
2.9 Angel Language Academy reserves the right to expel from courses any visa national student whose punctuality or full scheduled class attendance in any given course period does not exceed 10 expected contacts. In this case their study contract and visa will be deemed void subject to immigration law.
3. Cancellations and Withdrawals
3.1 In the event of a client’s decision to cancel participation in an agreed course, the client must give written notice no less than 22 days prior to the agreed start date. In this case a full refund will be given excluding the £50 enrolment fee and bank charges.
3.2 If a client cancels within and including 21 days to 15 days before the start of an agreed course, the client will be eligible for a refund excluding the £50 enrolment fee, bank charges, one week’s tuition fee, the amount of any additional fees equivalent to one week’s participation in Angel language Academy’s activities and use of accommodation and services.
3.3 If a client cancels within and including 14 days to 8 days before the start of an agreed course, the client will only be eligible to a refund of 50% of course and additional fees and excluding the £50 enrolment fee and bank charges.
3.4 If a client cancels within and including 7 days to no days before the start of an agreed course, the client will not be deemed entitled to any refund.
3.5 If a client wishes to withdraw from a course for reasons which are not the responsibility or within the control of Angel Language Academy during the course period then no refunds will be given.
3.6 If, during a course, a client wishes to withdraw for reasons of dispute then full written justification must be provided so that it may be submitted to the appropriate departments for validation and a 21 day cooling off period will be applied. The client must accept that England is the place of legal jurisdiction and actions are subject to the laws of England and Wales.
4. Student Conduct
4.1 On signing the study contract, the student agrees to follow Angel Language Academy’s Rules of Conduct and so submits to the related disciplinary procedures, attendance rules and participation expectations.
4.2 As a member of Angel Language Academy, a participant agrees to act in a considerate and courteous manner to all other members and colleagues and respect their environment. This includes consideration for the wellbeing and safety of others. We are sure that all of our members do not wish causing harm or offence to any other member of the college and have chosen to study with us with good intention.
4.3 Any student whose punctuality or full scheduled class attendance in any given course period does not exceed 85% will be subject to review and may be withdrawn from their course and their contract deemed void if their absence is suspicious.

4.5 The use of abusive, foul or malicious language towards members or colleagues will result in disciplinary action which may include expulsion without right to refund.
4.6 Ageist, disability-prejudiced, homophobic, racist or sexist language towards members or colleagues is illegal and will result in disciplinary action which may include expulsion without right to refund.
4.7 Physical, non-verbal or verbal bullying or any other form of abusive discrimination towards members or colleagues are illegal and will result in disciplinary action which may include expulsion without right to refund.
4.8 Unwanted and inappropriate sexual advances or contact are illegal and will result in disciplinary action which may include expulsion without right to refund.
4.9 Damage to property of Angel Language Academy or its premises, including graffiti, will require the offender to pay full the cost of replacement or repair and may also result in expulsion without right to refund. Malicious damage may also involve legal action against the offender.
4.10 Theft from any member or from Angel Language Academy will result in instant expulsion and legal involvement. Replacement costs of all removed items will also be the responsibility of the offender.
4.11 Any negligent act that may cause harm or injury either directly or in-directly may result in disciplinary action which may include expulsion without right to refund.
